Yoko Naito

Third place Professional winner of the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards - Travel, Yoko Naito studied at the Nihon University College of Art, Tokyo, Japan. She worked as a graphic designer in Tokyo, prior to moving to New York in 2009 where she began her career as a photographer. She moved to and has been based in Berlin since 2016.

I was born in a small village in Japan and grew up in the Tokyo area. The experience of the gap between rural and urban lifestyle and landscape has given a significant effect on me. This experience has become the trigger of my interest in the environment.
